If you're a teacher, Alexandra Robbins's new book will resonate with you. Anger you. Move you. Have you cheering for the amazing, life-changing work that so many teachers do for so little in return.

If you're not a teacher, this needs to be in your TBR pile. I'm looking at you, public school board of ed members, public school champions, and public school critics. Basically, everyone who cares for the future of American education needs to read this essential book.

I didn’t finish it because, as a teacher, it was too demoralizing 🤪

I think this book would be more revelatory if I were not a teacher and didn't know anything about the challenges teachers face in the US.

Wonderfully written book about a profession of which I’m proud to be a member. I wish everyone would read this book to get a glimpse into the world we live in. I’m grateful to not have experienced some of the terrible things many teachers have gone through. Hands down, the kids are the best part of the job and the reason I continue to teach. Thank you for sharing our profession with the world!

The Teachers is a must read for everyone. All teachers will find something relatable in Penny, Rebecca, and Miguel. The anecdotes and stories by other teachers are also highly relatable. The book explains the difficulty that teachers are facing. Unless you’ve been an educator, it’s impossible to understand what it’s truly like. The Teachers breaks that barrier and gives everyone a window into the profession. It’s raw and honest and doesn’t shy away from the difficult topics. Everyone should read this book.

I received this advanced reader copy provided by NetGalley.

None of this is surprising if you are a teacher or live with a teacher. But it's nice to know we're not alone.

Being a teacher myself, I found this book to validate several experiences I have had. I am not alone in my experiences and my feelings. This is a true peek into the profession for readers who have not served in a classroom. I appreciate the balance in showing the difficult times but acknowledging the rewards as well. I loved the fable at the end.
