This is a collection of short stories, comics, and poems that shouldn't be missed.  It showcases some of the greatest creative minds currently at work in the ya world.  I appreciated that it showed many different paths to creativity and then gave multiple prompts for you to try your own creativity.

A book needed to inspire middle grade readers & writers! I devoured this book over the summer! The writing prompts, pictures & short stories are a must for any classroom. An innovate idea & format. Do yourself a favor and buy a copy (or two) fir your classroom!

What a fun idea! Imagine all your favorite authors and illustrators collaborating together just for the sheer joy of creativity. Sharp collected prompts from prominent creators and then mailed them out, collected responses, and arranged them in this book. Some of my favorite authors are here like Gary D. Schmidt and Kate DiCamillo.

I can't wait to use this with my students! Of course, I liked some stories better than others, but that's the beauty of a book like this...PLUS, it's chock-full of writing prompts and very clever mentor text responses! SO fun!!

The layout and prompts are creative. I enjoyed reading the short stories and it even encouraged me to try several of the prompts. Great read for the classroom.

Five stars for creativity! The premise of this book is fantastic and definitely gets those wheels turning. I read it with my 11 year old and she absolutely LOVED it. As expected, the responses are a mixed bag. Short stories are a good place for authors to get out of their box and explore. Some of the stories are sad, some are more grown up with boyfriend/girlfriend talk, and a couple of them are downright creepy. I’d reserve it for middle school or higher, but still the idea behind it is amazing and this is definitely a book to share!
