3.5 stars. Overall, I liked this book, but it doesn’t fully go with the beauty and beast trope, in my opinion (which is the story I expected). Yes, he calls himself Beast, and from the prologue we know there is something about him that’s unusual, but it’s not really part of the plot, and it doesn’t come into play until the very end. Most of the tension comes from class shifts and wealth differences (the hero has risen up, and the heroine has fallen down). Still, this was an enjoyable read, and Lorraine Heath is becoming one of my favorites.

I expected to really like Beast, but I had trouble connecting with the characters, especially in the first half of the book. Beast's internal life felt hidden, and Thea's seemed lacking. I think if we had gotten to spend more time with Thea as she taught the women refinement I would have gotten a better picture of her as an individual.

"I am a bastard by birth. You, on the other hand, are a bastard by choice."

"He was taking a sabbatical from women, didn't want to be intrigued by me."

THESE DAMN EPILOGUES ARE DESTROYING ME. My god. I love the Trewlove family and all the side characters. I love the Christmas scenes in this book because we're approaching holiday season, and there were so many cute family moments, and of course, Beast and Thea's sort of darker undercurrent to their story was spicy - I love this cover too. I liked Jewel and her friendship with Thea, as well as the fact that Beast is a creative like Aiden.

I understand why this story was saved for last, and it definitely sets up the Once Upon a Dukedom series perfectly. When I eventually reread Heath's novels, I'll go in order and revisit the Trewloves before Thea's brothers.

I love that Robin realized the value in keeping animals in their habitats, and that it seems Ettie finds love as well.

This was really cute! Couldn’t put it down.

I really enjoyed the plot, even though I don’t think the whole ‘giving her lessons in seduction’ storyline was actually carried out that much. Both main characters, Althea and Benedict, were well developed and I cared about what happened to them.

I loved the found family vibes with the Trewloves (yes… that is their name lol), but I really didn’t care about Althea’s brothers. I kept wondering if we were going to hear from them again at some point, but I also didn’t want to because they didn’t interest me in any way, so thankfully they were barely present.

The steam was ok; there wasn’t that much for this sort of romance book, but when it happened it was nice! Nothing crazy but definitely not closed door.

The only thing that I didn’t care for was the epilogue. It was a bit too cheesy for me, and zipping forward 24 years is A LOT. But, overall I had a great time and it was just what I needed!

I love a good Beauty and the Beast retelling and this one hit all the right spots! Althea and Beast first meet when he comes into the tavern where she’s working as a waitress. She and her brothers lost everything after their father was found guilty of treason and executed.

I don’t want to give much of the story away because I really appreciated letting it unfold - but I will say Beast’s library has a part and isn’t that one of the best parts? I swoon for a beautiful library.

I recommend this if you enjoy a Beauty & the Beast story and are okay with some heavier/darker topics being included as well. While this is the 6th book in the series, I jumped in here and it can definitely be read alone but I’m looking forward to going back and reading the other Trewlove books.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advance review copy.

I think this one may be my favorite of all of the Sins for all Seasons books by Lorraine Heath. I don't know what it was about Benedict (Beast) and Althea but this book was a fantastic end for the Trewlove crew.

Benedict can always spot when someone doesn't belong and the minute he sees Althea, he knows she isn't supposed to be where she is...serving drinks at his sister's bar. While Althea may be out of her element, she isn't afraid to stand up for herself so when Beast asks her what she's doing there, she basically tells him to mind his own business. From that moment on, he is intrigued. Beast is a protector so when he finds a way to help the ladies in his care alongside of Althea, he does what he can to make it happen.

I loved these two characters from the moment they met and the way their story progressed was perfectly done. As the story progresses, they have their challenges based on who they are to society. As Althea has fallen through no fault of her own, Beast learns who he is and why he ended up with the Trewloves. Both events create some tough decisions that these two have to make and face.

I'll definitely be picking up more Lorraine Heath books and since the mystery behind what Althea's brothers are doing is still to be resolved, I'm extra happy that they will get their own stories.

I picked up this entire series based on a recommendation and I'm really happy I did. The characters are all well developed and getting to see the entire family throughout the series made it even better as I love when I get to peek back into past characters lives to see how it's going. If you're looking for a historical romance series that will keep you engaged and interested, definitely check this one out. Make sure you grab this installment for sure!

I have been waiting for this book since the first mention of Beast. Any hero named Beast is a hero I want to know everything about. This book did not disappoint! Beast aka Benedict Trewlove, doesn't know who his parents are. He was dropped off at a baby farmer that decided to keep him (along with many others). Beast has watched his adoptive brothers and sisters find love and family. He feels lonely.. That's when he notices that the new barmaid doesn't belong. Althea (Thea) Stanwick was kicked out of her home in the middle of the night and found work as a barmaid.

I loved these two. Thea was very headstrong. She decided that she didn't want to belong to any man.. so she fought her attraction to Ben. Ben has always been one of my favorite of the Trewlove siblings. He just seemed so sweet! I loved that he got his HEA... even if Thea wasn't exactly what I wanted for him.

Thank you netgalley for my copy!

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an advanced copy.

I loved this book! I thought the chemistry between Beast and Althea was perfect. I liked how the secondary characters in this book were realistic and had a lot of depth. I felt that the ending was a little rushed. It was nice to see the other members of the Trewlove family again. I think that Lorraine Heath did a great job wrapping up the Sins for All Seasons series. It really made me feel a sense of closure about the characters that we would be saying goodbye to after six books. I am really interested in reading about what will happen to Althea's brothers in future books. For fans of Lisa Kleypas and Kerrigan Byrne.

Benedict "Beast" Trewlove is immediately drawn to Althea Stanwick when he sees her working in a pub. He knows that she does not belong in the dangerous parts of London. Althea was abandoned by her fiancé when her father was arrested for treason and for attempting to assassinate the Queen. Althea and her brothers have lost their reputation and money. Althea's brothers are working on finding proof that will show that they are innocent of their father's treason. Beast lives in a brothel, and he grew his empire by protecting the innocent. He wants the women who work in the brothel to be able to leave the profession. He hires Althea to teach the women the skills they need to find other work. Beast has made a promise to himself to never get involved with the women he works with, but he is drawn to Althea. When the truth about Beast's birth parents is revealed, will his relationship with Althea still work out?
