An interesting book that does a nice job respecting Agatha Christie’s legacy. It dragged a little at times and certain characters grew insufferable, though.

Fantastic! Twisty twisty twisty. I loved the varying perspectives and a glimpse into the life of one of my favorite writers. Cannot recommend enough.

It was okay. I liked the general story, although it seems very much like a story that's its own story, in a pointless kind of way? I understand why Agatha went away and everything that goes into it, but it felt so rushed to finish it. The actual ending took maybe 20 pages? I also wasn't a fan of the pov narrative, mostly bc it made it difficult to determine whose perspective you were viewing. The coverart and title caught my attention, but it wasn't as good as I was hoping.

Claiming amnesia, Agatha Christie went missing for eleven days. Scotland Yard was called in. The entire country was on the lookout for this newly famous author. She was found in a hotel registered under a different name, which happened to be her husband's mistress's name. No one knows what caused her to leave, because she never wrote about it in her autobiography and never talked about it publicly. But author Marie Benedict recreates the story of Agatha's sad marriage to Archie Christie, and the her early days as a famed mystery writer. Engaging, and quite enjoyable to read, this novel makes me want to read other accounts of Mrs. Christie's life. It's very apparent Archie quite underestimated his wife's skills of manipulation (and revenge)!

I enjoyed this book! This was basically an Agatha Christie version of Gone Girl, which I liked! I read The Murder of Roger Ackroyd prior to reading this novel, which was useful in understanding the story and its unreliable narrators.

Quick thoughts: I have read all of Marie Benedict’s books featuring strong women in history, and every year, I think she’s topped herself. She really has topped herself with this book featuring Agatha Christie’s mysterious disappearance!
Yes, Christie really disappeared and this story is not well known, and it happened just as her career was beginning to take off.
I just cannot get over how clever this book is, and in true Christie style, brace yourself for that last twist ahead of time!

Light and enjoyable. Based on true events, it’s a fun way to look at Agatha Christie’s life and work.

Loved this! I haven't read any other theories about what happened to Christie when she went missing, and now that I've heard this one I probably won't. Well written and I liked the jumping back and forth between the time periods with different points of view.
