Sweet with an interesting concept and in my view good execution. Sometimes I don't need a world that is so dense with detail I lose sight of the plot, and the characters were loveable enough to pull it together even when things went unexplained such as the magic system. I'm not sure if this part of a series but if it is I will definitely read the next installment. I think the fact I went into this with zero prior knowledge and expectations meant I could enjoy it more than some of the other reviewers for whom it didn't live up to the marketing (+ it only cost me £1).

This is the best novel I’ve read this year, and it could quite possibly be the best I read all year.

Maybe a 4.5?

Gahh, I loved this so much! Such a great storyline, with beautiful writing and excellent set of characters. Loved the m/m romance, loved how complex the plot was and couldn’t get enough of it!

Well this book took a turn to a subject that I wasn't expecting. Much more raunchy than I imagined too. There are ways and reasons to fill a book. Some hold more than expected.
A good book that kept me listening.

The text itself is so all over the place: mature and literary and trying to be poetic and then trashy and plain and funny and YA. It was a wonderful concept and a wild read, to me
