I don’t fully know how I feel about this. I think the premise is good but I just don’t know about the execution. Both of the characters had moments where I was rooting for them and others when they were really unlikeable and I almost gave up with the story. I also feel like, despite this being a standalone that on amazon is classed as the first in a series, there really should be a note to read Nina and Mason’s story first. There were several moments when previous events or characters were mentioned and no context was given. I haven’t been put off reading other books by this author and will go back at some point to read them and hopefully have those blanks filled in.
