This is an incredible story. There is so much crammed in here; so much is said about America and humans, all relevant now, but especially relevant during the AIDS crisis in New York. I'm only rating it as a 4/5 because while I can acknowledge how amazing the work is, I personally don't enjoy it quite that much. I don't get that much entertainment value out of it, even though I have seen it in person. Important play for every actor to read/see, though.
SCRATCH THAT, FORGET EVERYTHING I SAID BECAUSE THIS PLAY IS FREAKING INCREDIBLE AND HOW DARE PAST ME SAY OTHERWISE!

Sorry for screaming, but I think its deserved in this scenario. I've done about everything I can with this play, save for actually act in it--which...I never would. I've seen a college production, worked crew on it, seen it on Broadway with the newest cast (phenomenal, by the way), read it, and watched the HBO miniseries (which I totally recommend). I love this play. I acknowledge that I am missing a lot in it, and that's probably why I gave it a 4/5 previously, but it's worth the continued investigation. And I plan to add more to this review once I do so.
