Another BOTM shelf warmer that I enjoyed.
Daniel lives in Athens, GA. He also has a degenerative disease, SMA aka Spinal Muscular Atrophy, which has caused him to rely on a motorized chair to get around. He also uses a computer to speak. Daniel narrates the story for us, and the first thing we learn is he might have been witness to a crime that took place outside his window on the street.
Daniel is intelligent, funny, full of life, and has a big heart. I loved all of the side characters, especially Marjani and Travis. There is some on page violence that made me cringe, but that's kind of expected when a psychopath kidnaps someone. The author seems to have a strong understanding of what it is like to live with SMA- the physical and emotional challenges along with the stereotypes.
I highly recommend this book if you enjoy reading mysteries and/or books with representation!

This book was slow. It was hard to get into at first, but then would have a little spike of excitement for a minute. Then it'd go back to being slow. The ending was a bit faster pace, but predictable.

The story is a mix of Rear Window and Girl on the Train.
