At times this book was hard to put down. I loved the disability representation. Despite dealing with serious topics like disability and kidnapping, this book made me laugh several times! There was a certain small thing I was hoping would happen in the end that didn’t so I took off half a star.

Adventurous, dark humor, and an interesting approach to a missing persons story. I loved the way the story was written. It almost felt like a long stream of consciousness or a story being told to someone (if that makes sense). Daniel is a very lovable character but there were times where he had a lot of dark thoughts about death. I would recommend listening to the audio version. The narrator was 10/10!!

Enjoyed the plot and learning about SMA. Some elements were problematic enough to take away from really enjoying as much as I would have liked. Three biggest issues for me were the fact that this isn't own voice (obvious from page one and my bad for not researching that before I purchased), virtue signaling, and some ridiculously convenient plot points. I finished it though because I really liked Daniel, Travis, and Marjani and cared about finding out what happened. Makes it hard to figure out what to rate it overall.

This book is not a brilliant mystery, and I wish sections read less like a Wikipedia page. But the narrative voice was so compelling and funny that I ended up adoring this. Great characters.
