Enjoyed the plot and learning about SMA. Some elements were problematic enough to take away from really enjoying as much as I would have liked. Three biggest issues for me were the fact that this isn't own voice (obvious from page one and my bad for not researching that before I purchased), virtue signaling, and some ridiculously convenient plot points. I finished it though because I really liked Daniel, Travis, and Marjani and cared about finding out what happened. Makes it hard to figure out what to rate it overall.

I was a bit conflicted about this book - I really enjoyed it and thought it was well written, I love the voices of the characters and found the relationships in it so charming and real. But at the same time I wish it was written by someone who actually experiences this, and I feel like this is a bit of an idealized version of it. I would be interested in the opinion of this book from someone with this condition or something similar.
