I am quickly thinking I need to read more of Score's backlist. Until this book, the only thing I've read by Score is Things We Never Got Over, and I was so obsessed with that book and meant to read the second book. But they all tend to be bigger books, and by now, we all know I get a little antsy when we hit the 400s and higher. I ended up picking this book up because we were going to Atlanta. When we are driving somewhere, I normally always drive on the interstate. My husband drives in the cities because I love listening to audiobooks while I drive, and that's what happened here. This book was so good and made the drive go by way too fast. I ended up listening to this all the way there, on the way back. I still had some left to finish up on when I got home, and instead of just taking forever to read the book, I ended up listening to the rest of it as soon as I got home. This book just had so much going on, and I freaking loved Remi! She just came off as this super charismatic woman, but she has many layers that she keeps hidden this time. When she comes home, she's a grown-up who has dealt with many things. We would jump between today's timeline and back to when they were all teenagers, and we see that this is the same girl, but she's been through something. We don't know what it is until she tells us. I was obsessed with this book, and I really need to read more of the backlist and finish the Knockemout series!

Lucy Score sure knows how to write 'em 💕

This book has all of Lucy's best qualities. Lovable main characters, a perfectly grumpy MMC, feisty FMC, a hint of suspense, a great dose of pining, and hotttttt spice.

I would have adored a post-wedding epilogue with a preview of a growing Callan family, but the epilogue of the pool scene was a true gift 😋

This was my first Lucy Score read, and it's safe to say I definitely enjoyed it! Has a great plot and great characters, I loved the pace of everything. The romance mixed with the suspense of what all is going on with Remi makes it perfect!

CW: blood, sexual content, gun violence, car accident, DV of a side character

I enjoyed this book, Lucy is always a comfort author for me. I did struggle with the fact that the FMC was 16 and the MMC was an adult when they first had some chemistry and liked one another. Nothing happened and it takes place 15 years later but it did mess with me a bit. This book has a suspense plot to it as well.

It was nice to see that the FMC had asthma, chronic illnesses are not always in books so it’s always refreshing to see.

I loved the tension, banter and spice in this book it was just really well done.
