This got off to a good start, but gradually went downhill. I didn't like Michael's entitlement or the way he lost his temper with Francesca over small things. It felt like he seduced her into having sex with him and then coerced her into marriage, so the second half of the book was a real miss for me.
Moderate: Death, Infertility, Miscarriage, Sexual content, and Emotional abuse
Minor: Chronic illness, Blood, and Pregnancy

Honestly one of the better books of the series and my favorite love interest so far (but the bar is low since the men in these books all kinda suck)

Pros:
I appreciate that this story showed some of the pain and difficulty that comes both with grief and fertility issues. So often historical romances avoid both.
I love that as a friends to lovers this never was about stealing from or disrespecting Frannie’s first husband, he wasn’t the bad guy and he was never disrespected.
Cons:
I can’t specifically place anything bad about this book or that it is missing but it still isn’t a visceral immediate five star.

It was just fine.
I wasn't really interested in this story and didn't felt connected to this love story but it was okay.
