This got off to a good start, but gradually went downhill. I didn't like Michael's entitlement or the way he lost his temper with Francesca over small things. It felt like he seduced her into having sex with him and then coerced her into marriage, so the second half of the book was a real miss for me.

This one. This one is my favorite. I thought it was book three but it’s definitely this one. That second chance romance, the spice…Just beautiful

This is definitely the most steamy and sexy of the Bridgerton books so far but I struggled to like either the male or female leads. Francesca because I felt like girlie could never make up her goddamn mind EVER and everyone else suffered because of that and Michael because the angry playboy trope is just so overused in this series. I think Julia Quinn maybe tried to bring consent into the equation with this book (unlike so many of the others in the series coming before this one) but it still did not work as anything other than explicit consent/a strong “yes” means that the action is nonconsenual! but whatever I get it’s a historical romance and times were different back then, it just makes me uncomfortable to read it. I think if I had to see/hear “her womanhood” or “her femininity” one more time, I would have gone crazy.
and yes i will be reading the next two because im invested in this stupid book series.
