Read via audiobook from Audible. Narrated by the author which added everything to this narration. Amazing, genuine, real!

Easy to implement ideas on how to be your own cheerleader and change your life.

I was looking for a book for my bookclub that focuses on promoting wellness and living an intentional life. With a 4.5 star rating on Goodreads, I felt this would be a great candidate. I was mistaken. It is not for me.
Literally, give yourself a high five in the mirror every morning. No matter how you look. No matter how tired you are. You showed up and are doing great.
That's it.
I just saved you $18.95.

got this as a gift, specifically tailored for me.
this is the first self-help book I read, and I have to admit it really spoke to me.
all the numerous examples of thought patterns given by the author really depicted what goes on in my brain 24/7.
I am going to start using the high 5 method, because in my head I see the author's point - it is a means of celebration, and I really need to start celebrating me, myself and I ♡

I have been following Mel Robbins on socials for quite some time, her quotes have always been a source of inspiration, picked this book up on a whim. I had started reading this at the end of June, but stopped due to a health scare - I felt the time was not right for some reason - weird right. Started it again July 31st and for some reason - it just felt right - I guess God was saying you need to read this now lol & also some equations in my headspace (Heartfulness Bhandara) had changed, as some of you know. Sharing this, because I truly felt ready to receive the message in the book which is inspiring me now to go in directions I never dreamed before.

This book is groundbreaking - I got blown away by every chapter - in every chapter, I discovered something about myself - got to find out what I really need to focus on - myself, not on things external to me - because only this I can control, not the latter. It is definitely not an instantaneous cure, but it is helping me to get to a place where I can actually start feeling good about myself. As some of you know, I have been cultivating some habits since May which have become a bane of my life now - now I am starting to see some fruits of that - and giving a high five to myself every day has given me an added boost like no other - smiling at myself is no longer cheesy but a natural thing to do every morning. I definitely want to keep this going - I have started High Five Journaling too - today was Day 1 and it felt good to root down.

All in all, a great book - I would recommend this to everyone. High Five! You deserve this!

I enjoyed this book. I can relate to alot of what Mel says because I find myself getting stuck in doubt and alot of times it crushes dreams I have because I'm to worried about what others think, and worrying about failing.

I am not usually a self help person, but I have found myself coming back and back to the topics and tools in this book. I found it enormously helpful and very inspiring and this coming from someone who typically finds self help repetitive and hokey. I was super impressed and will probably buy my own copy and reread

Love the idea, but honestly it could have been 100 pages shorter and gotten the point across.

I loved this book only up to the one before the last chapter. I mean I adapted the high five habit into my life and it has proven to be a great tip. Still Dear Mel, what the hell were you thinking writing about psychic bullshit?

For me to keep the book on my shelf requires me to tear away that chapter.
