This was a beautifully descriptive story but also extremely depressing. I would recommend it since it’s quite short (only 97 pages). One of my favourite lines was “as though his skin was but a piece of cloth draped loosely over his skull”.

Başında çok umutluydum ve hatta ihtiyarla köpeğinin ilişkisinden sıklıkla çok etkilenmiş olmamla birlikte. Sevemedim ve hatta sıkıldım. Şu felaket günlerinde böyle bir felaket hikayesi okumak yanlış bir seçimdi diye düşünüyorum...

Such weird and fascinating metaphors sprinkled throughout the two novellas. Evocative imagery. And now I'm left feeling an overwhelming thirst crackling in my throat.

P/s: Ai ghi cái giới thiệu vậy trời, mình là tự dưng hứng lên đọc chớ mà tìm hiểu qua rồi mới đọc thì có phải bị spoil rồi không, ghi hết trơn cái cốt truyện thì coi như giảm 50% sự hấp dẫn của cuốn sách rồi
