Delightfully engaging with amoral and charming characters.

Would not have the energy to hang with Justin and Léon. Would absolutely hang with Rupert.

Briefly racist, casually sexist, very classist, and with a terrific conflation of
lineage, morality, personality, and worth.
None of which is unusual with Heyer.

Very readable and well written. Very dramatic plot, with secret identities, intrigue and adventure. The side characters are great, the heroine took a while to grow on me. Not the best romance, though she does grow more independent as it progresses. Good world-building and period details.
