It ended up being very cute, but it was heavier than I anticipated. Still loved it though!

"'Some people seem so confident in reclaiming everything that's ever been thrown at them.'
'Sometimes you have to reclaim it,' he mutters. 'Because it gets rubbed in your face either way.'"

Another book recomendation I have with a bisexual main character is the one featured on this picture; Coffee Boy by Austin Chant.
This is a short New Adult novella about a transmale working on a political compaign as an intership. It's own voices for trans and there's a well bi representation on this one 👌🏻It's a quick and entertaining read; I gave it 4 out of 5 stars 🌟

“God, you are the tragic gay man.”
Seth smiles. “I’m bisexual.”
“Oh.” Kieran swallows his food. “I guess that’s more original.”

*4 STARS*

yes I loved this novel and yes I loved Seth and Kieran and quite literally everything they did together and yes I loved how witty and (at times) sexually tense and cute this was.

this novel was amazingly well-written and well-executed and had such definitive and lovely aspects to it, such as it being own voices, highly representative, LGBTQIA+ positive and so much more.

yeah I really loved this and while this is one of my more coherent late night reviews, I'm still physically SCREAMING at how wonderful this was. ❤️❤️

THIS BOOK IS SO CUTE!!!

I'm always looking out for trans inclusive lit, especially cute fluffy romantic stories like this. So much of LGBTQ+ lit is tragic and angsty (and sure I get it, that is definitely part of the LGBTQ+ experience) but sometimes I just want to read about members of my community being happy and In love.

There's not a whole heap to say about this since it is a novella, and therefore, very short. But it was a really beautiful story that followed two characters I really liked (Kieran and Seth) and really enjoyed getting to know. As a cis person but a member of the lgbtq+ community, it's really important to me to read books that help me understand the other members of my community so that I can be the best ally I can be. I've learnt a lot over the years through the help of a podcast called 'You're So Brave' By Chase Ross and Aaron Ansuini, but I love finding books like this because there's always more to learn. Plus it's just so dang refreshing to read books, especially love stories that just about straight cisgendered people - like there's already a TRILLION of those.

I usually have beef with novellas and avoid them at all costs, they're often so short I get annoyed that they end so quickly; and while I would have LOVED an extra 300 pages of this book - it really is the perfect novella. Despite its length I didn't feel robbed of their story, it wasn't rushed and it wasn't lacking. It was perfect. I will definitely be more open-minded about picking up novellas in the future!

This book is sweet and fluffy and the perfect cure when your feeling pissed off about the lacklustre LGBTQ+ (especially trans) representation in mainstream media. I can't wait to check out more of Austin Chant's books in the future!

The characters were so lovable, and Kieran was such a real and relatable trans guy. Quick easy read, loved the plots and tropes, and the internal dialog of feeling isolated because of being queer is such a common feeling that was written well. The one thing I would have liked would be to see more of them in the office together after they started dating.

This book was so wonderful. It would've been one of my favourite books of the year had it been longer. I desperately wanted to read more after the characters got together but it just ended. The MC is both a trans man and gay so he faces a lot of prejudice in his new work space but his boss is very keen on making sure that everyone treats Kieran with the respect he deserves.

I think because this was own voices it felt all that more authentic and genuine. The experiences the MC faced felt like real life experiences, the things he felt read really well and made me feel even more sad about the way trans people are treated because it gave me insight into the mind of a trans person. Kieran also had to work at a place where he wasn't out so had to dress as the gender he was assigned at birth and it was interesting to read.
