I listened on the Libby app from my library! It was such an easy listen and full of twists and turns! The author, Kate White, did an excellent job with the storyline and character development!

I received this book as a First Read. I like Kate White, really, but not this book. It is a series of cliches with poorly developed and not very likable characters, a predictable plot, and little feel for even the setting. While the novel started off well, with an illicit hook-up in Florida, it fell flat on its face back in NewYork City. The heroine continually makes dumb choices which put her in danger, she has a friend who is 50 or 60, highly regarded in her field, and is named Baby -really, and the writing is too trite and clunky (yep, both) to pull it off. So, if you want a few interior decorating tips - our girl can identify paint by both brand and color name, like to pat yourself on the back because you did predict all major plot points, and don't have anything else to read or retread within a five mile radius, including old classic mysteries from Marsh and Christie, go for it.

Kits holiday fling becomes a fight for her life. this was a great fast paced story that keeps you wanting more. Thanks to Canelo and Netgalley for a copy of this book to read and review

Decent escapism, but really a 3.5 rather than a 4. Here's why: I constantly asked, "why is this otherwise intelligent person making such stupid decisions?" Not the one-night stand ("no regrets!"), because, well, ok, I could buy that. But once Kit discovers that the man she's slept with isn't actually "Matt Healy", her brain seems to turn off and that bothers me. Even if she had gone straight to the police, keeping them in the loop, the suspense quotient could have been as high as it is. But if you can get past her questionable choices, this is a decent suspense outing.
