I found this book only okay, but an eight or nine year old girl would LOVE this book. Frankly any elementary aged girl would love this book.

Abby is our main character and she just moved to a new town and is starting 5th grade. Unfortunately everything is new and different and she's finding it incredibly difficult to fit in and make friends. One night she is woken up by her younger, 7 year old brother, Jonah. Jonah claims that the mirror in the basement is hissing and turning purple. Abby is concerned that he broke the giant mirror in the basement and reluctantly follows him downstairs. Jonah ends up knocking on the mirror 3 times and suddenly Abby and Jonah get sucked into the mirror! They are transported to a fairytale land right smack dab in the middle of Snow White's story. Without thinking (and kinda panicking because they are in a Fairytale land!) they interrupt Snow's story and kinda mess everything up. Together they decide to stay in this mysterious, but awfully cool land, and try and fix the story and give Snow the happily ever after she deserves.

This was a fun, quick read. I didn't find it incredibly thrilled because I read a lot of twisted fairytale stories (meant for adults) so this was a bit on the boring side for me. I did appreciate the humor Mlynowski gave the reader and the snark and wit that definitely show through the writing. Young readers are sure to pick this up (the first in a series) and really enjoy it.

My 10 year old daughter read this a few months ago and really enjoyed it. It sounded like an interesting twist on the fairy tale. I wasn't reading anything, so I grabbed this to read during her dance class. It is a super cute adventure. We just ordered the sequel and I look forward to seeing what happens to the heroine next time.

A cute story, where Abby and her brother Jonah find themselves in the middle of the fairy tale Snow White. After inadvertently rewriting the story (they keep Snow from eating the poisoned apple ... and from meeting the prince!), they set out to make things right!

This was a little too simplistic for adults (though admittedly I did chuckle aloud at a couple of lines), but it's perfect for a seven- or eight- or nine-year-old girl. As a parent, I appreciate that the Abby is generally a good example: loving, kind, courageous.

I enjoyed the lightheartedness of the book, but it was a little too slow for me. If I had read this as a 3rd grader I would have loved it! If you are older than 8 or even 10 years old I would not recommend this book for you.

I'm not rating this book because it is not meant for my age group. I don't want to discourage young readers from enjoying this amazing story.

So cute! Loved the sibling dynamic between Abby and Jonah. Snow White was so precious I loved her character. This was a reread for me and I’m glad I still enjoyed it!

I just remembered these books existed lol- I think I read a good few of them back when I was like eight. I don't really remember anything but I remember the Cinderella one was my favorite because she ditched the prince and opened a bakery which was A+ character development for her lmao
