Well I liked this book not loved it. The story wasn't as I expected it to be.
"Jane Doe" is the story of a self-diagnosed sociopath who is on the journey to avenge her friend who was the only person that knew what she really was and still loved her. Jane's best and only friend "Meg" died and that's makes Jane comeback from Malaysia where she is successful and has a great life. Through the story we discover what happened to Meg and that's why Jane wants to avenge her, it' easy to understand what is going to happen. Jane is a sociopath which you're reminded of it in each chapter, it's kind of repetitive (I wanted to say: Okey Jane I get it!). I can say that after a few chapters you may guess the plot and what will happen at the end which was right but kind of written in a hurry.
Perhaps we have a little of Jane Doe in us and in some extreme sad situations, it might appear but we tend to destroy ourselves in those situations.
I was hooked from the beginning and I was hoping for something more exciting but after some chapters, it was like "I just wan't to know the end!"
Now, I don't know if I'm gonna read the Jane Doe.2, perhaps one day.

A very enjoyable revenge story - psychological thriller, I guess? With a dash of romance.

4.5 Stars!

This is my first Victoria Helen Stone novel and I definitely want to read more of her work. I listened to this as an audiobook and the narrorator was top-notch also!

Jane is a self-diagnosed sociopath with a refreshing view of relationships, especially male-female ones.
This story is gripping and suspenseful without the need for unreliable narrators or improbable last-minute twists, and the ending is satisfyingly complete.
This was my July pick from Kindle first. With its plain title and dull cover I only chose it because none of the others appealed either. I got lucky! ‘Jane Doe’ is fabulously entertaining from the first word to the last.

(Edited to remove my terrible its/it's 'typo - I'm so ashamed! )

Sociopath Jane is living a fake life for the sole purpose of seeking revenge on Steven. Steven dated and abused Jane's best friend Meg, who committed suicide. Jane blames Steven for Meg's suicide, so she is out for revenge by destroying his life, and begins by dating him and working at his job. The plot was original and sounded promising. However, I was so disappointed. This novel doesn't fit into the category as a thriller, mystery or suspense; with all the explicit sex scenes, it ended up feeling like a twisted romance novel. If you removed the explicit sex scenes from the story, there actually isn't much left. I just discovered this novelist is a former romance novelist, so that explains alot. Jane also takes a few pot shots at religion in general and her unbelief in God is expressed. There are religious hypocrites in the story, which deserve her criticism, but she also criticizes a typical church service, which may be offensive, but I guess it is due to her unbelief and not understanding. She even twists Bible scriptures for her revenge mindset. We are supposed to cheer for Jane as she takes down evil people, but I found her thought process and personality to be horrid, she was just as evil as the ones she despised, so I couldn't love this "heroine," she was a horrible person. So I had several issues with this novel, though according to the reviews, I seem to be in the minority, but I hate romance novels and despise explicit sex scenes.

“So, by the time I was 12, I’d already learned I could use my sexuality against men. I could use it against them, or they’d use it against me. Them or me, and it wasn’t ever going to be me again.”

4.5 - A captivating story about a woman getting revenge for her deceased friend by manipulating the abusive man responsible to unleash his dirty secrets to the world. I absolutely loved this story! She played this man like a fiddle.
