I don’t mind this story. I also saw it in the first months on stage In London. I enjoyed it.
My problem with it is Harry! I don’t think the Harry in this is how Harry would be in the future. He has changed a lot and I think he was terribly written.

It was half-enjoyable, but still very flat. It's chock-full of glaring plot holes, contradictions and infuriating inconsistencies. A very one-dimensional Ron that felt nothing like the real thing, Ginny's missing personality and the trolley witch (seriously?!) along with 'Voldemort day', the corny Malfoy and many other issues made this a very frustrating read.

Good story. Was it a story that absolutely needed to be told, was it a blatant cash-grab, or was it simply a good excuse to visit and catch up with old friends? I'll leave that to the internet pundits and trolls to decide. I'm simply going to opt for the third choice and say that it was nice to spend some time in the Wizarding World once again. No spoilers, but it's a good story, well told, and the familiarity with the setting and the beloved characters made escaping into this world as easy as the proverbial Sunday morning. Is it a necessary story for the Harry Potter universe? Probably not. But it is a good one, and that's good enough for me.

The most enjoyable four hours of reading I've had since the series ended years ago. And it was so good to be back. JKR has truly outdone herself, once again. This story was a complete marvel. And though his journey has ended, these characters will never leave us. Now....to find a way to see this production live!! ⚡️

That was so much fun! I read this in a few hours and I loved every second of it. It was so nice to be back in the Harry Potter universe and read about our old friends, Harry, Hermione, and Ron. I didn't mind the play format since I do enjoy reading Shakespeare's plays. While reading I was picturing the actors on the stage and it would be a dream to see this in person. I loved everything about it and if you are a fan this is a no brainer.

Oh my fizzing whizbees! This story did not disappoint. I'm definitely one who prefers my prose in the novel form as opposed to the stage play form, but I won't be picky in this situation. The very thing that Harry Potter fans have been wanting for years was in my hands. A continuation of the Harry Potter stories. If I had dreamed up a fan fiction, it would be this story. I won't give any spoilers, but it was a perfect balance of new characters and adventures blended with what could have been a natural outcome of the experiences of the original characters. This is officially on my favorites list.

I was really disappointed with this book. It read like (mostly bad) FanFiction to me.

I liked - not loved - it and it made me want to start reading the series again. I agree with some of the criticism others mention. Some characters are not well-written. I was especially bothered by how Ron was just a funny, dumb presence who had nothing to contribute. Overall, I felt entertained. I enjoy stories including time travel, attempts to set things right, seeing the consequences, exploring how characters turn out different under changed circumstances. For me, it was ok for the story to focus on Albus and have his siblings be less present. This is his story.
Regarding format: I'm used to reading plays, so it was "interesting" to also have them explain feelings, thoughts and memories - and not just the visible part.
Finally, I felt the target audience of this book/play must have been younger than for the last books. The themes seem less mature and as someone else put it "unnecessary [teenage] drama" about identity and family relationships.

I enjoyed this book a lot, however, due it it being a screenplay it took quite a while for me to really get into it. I wish we got to see more of Harry's other children and Ron's children as well. Acts 1 and 2 were a little slow going but Part 2 (Acts 3 and 4) really picked up and I couldn't put the book down. I feel bad giving it only 4 stars, but it just doesn't compare to the "original" Harry Potter books.
