He was such a great man <3 My teacher said that Bhagat Singh was a freedom fighter, but he was also a thinker, and I agree with him. It feels surreal to read the thoughts of a man who lived almost a century ago, but I am glad I was able to read it.

"You are giddy with fame and have developed an ego which is standing like a black curtain between you and the God"

Bhagat Singh's friend said when he was informed of Bhagat Singh's atheism during their incarceration and failed to incite faith of god in him

Why I am an Atheist is basically an answer to the previous response on how he who was born in a family who were believers turned to atheism.
How he as a kid who believed in god came to not believing in it. The revolutionary party he was a part were mostly composed of believers and even leaders were firm believers of god.

I was astonished by the fact bhagat singh being so young had a vivid understanding of things. The questions, the philosophy, the reasoning he puts forward for his own beliefs are so wonderful & thought provoking. Me myself not being a religious person has pondered over some of the questions but his approach was absolutely amazing.

When a friend of Bhagat Singh said to him " During last days you will begin to believe" , he said" No, dear Sir, it shall not be. I will think that to be an act of degradation and demoralization on my part. For selfish motives I am not going to pray."

I highly recommend this to everyone. it is a short read but definitely worth it.

This book literally blew my mind. Everything in here is things that are relevant to the world of today as well, and it is so well reasoned and presented. I've been meaning to read this forever and am glad I finally did it.

if only people took on realism instead, we'd be living in a very different land.

An interesting looking into the mind of one the most notable shaheeds within our community who rejects the notion of organized religion, like it's perfectly logical especially given the conditions he grew up in and the man that he was

There are some points that I disagree with, especially how he approaches them, but one thing is evident his passion and pain comes through his words. I read the English translation and plan to read the Punjabi version once my reading speed improves and I believe that will be create an even more impact.

This is a strong essay with valid points, as I mentioned before there are ways he approaches her certain topics that I believe were kind of weak. For instance, he invokes the name of Charles Darwin and it becomes apparent he believes that science and faith are at odds when another, when I (as a biochemist and Sikh) do not believe that is true, I think that's a very black/white and simplistic way to look at both science and faith. However, in all I think it was an extremely good read and I would urge other Sikhs to read it as well and form their own opinions.

I'm not comfortable rating this personally, since it's not a book, but rather a personal essay

Very good book, thought provoking and reminding us why Bhagat Singh is still so much loved, respected and why we take so much pride in him. 'Inquilab Zindabad' the never dieing motto given by him are not just two words to be spoken thoughtlessly but its an ideology which needs guts to be followed.
