With different adjectives to describe the feet of each anima--like the ladybug's tippity dance steps or the elephant's stompity ones-- and Brown's hand-painted paper collage illustrations, this book will delight young readers and inspire them to dance.

Neat story, and liked the illustrations also. My two year old and I would guess the animal/bug but its feet and she was right many of the times. She also loves stomping so that was a fun part, to go stompity stompity or do whatever each creature was doing. Bonus: whenever my little lady dances she shouts "happy feet happy feet!" so that being included in the story was fun for us.

Dancing Feet! is a great opportunity to make storytime interactive. While familiar animals will draw a young group's attention to the excellent illustrations in the book, different dancing descriptions will keep older kids entertained with mimicking the kinds of movement. A repetitive sentence structure makes follow-along easy and fun for caregivers and doesn't overburden the little ones enjoying it with complicated narrative structure or information. This is definitely one I'd return to, especially since it doesn't seem to be overly-well-known yet.

Apparently I read this book to my almost 12 year old back in the day and thought it was alright.
I just read it to my three year old daughter and I loved the art! And the way the bugs turn out to be the kids!

Various animals' feet make different sounds as they dance. Used in Family Story Time and it went over fairly well. Several children enjoy stamping...
