A despicable villain tries to take over the world, but is stymied by a young, inquisitive child. Insistent on knowing "why," the young child forces the supervillain to take a deeper look at his motivations. A very interactive picture book, my own three-year-old had a great time chiming in with each "why?"

When a would-be supervillain crashes through the roof of a shopping mall, everyone flees except a little girl who keeps asking, “Why?” in response to every proclamation he makes. Soon it’s just the two of them wandering the stores, her repeated question inducing him to ponder how he came to this place and time, wondering if maybe his dreams lie elsewhere. A delightful depiction of curiosity cutting through the bluster of a bully to see the wounded child inside.

On conversations and digging deep into your soul to figure out what you really want. Sometimes you need someone to help you discover it.

Reminiscent of Pigeon (extreme emotions)...plus there are funny scenes the adults will enjoy.

I like the premise of the book and the message that “bad guys” aren’t always bad. This book can also open a conversation about asking questions of others and how that can lead you to understand someone better.
Unfortunately, the illustrations and length of the book and the ending didn’t add to my enjoyment of the book. Hence, just 3 stars.

This is terrific: hilarious, cute, and there's a knitting wannabe super villain. What's not to love?

This story is for any parent, aunt, uncle, grandparent, babysitter, ANYONE who gets asked “Why?” eight gazillion times by a curious toddler. Apparently, sometimes your endless answers lead to thwarting villains! Whimsical artwork accompanies this terrific read-aloud story.

This was super cute and a good reminder that there’s always something new to learn if you just ask why.
