This was a great Halloween read, the drawings were quite creepy and the story itself is really interesting, the ending wasn't at the same caliber as the rest of the story, but it was still kind of creepy all the same.

My first manga was a strong introduction to the medium. With sharp, precise drawings and great dramatic pacing, Junji Ito's Uzumaki, Volume 1 envelops the reader in the story, showing us the characters and the town they live in right before it starts being torn apart. Kirie and Shuichi were both strong main characters, and the setting was drawn beautifully. However, the true standout is Ito's trademark body horror, which creeps into the story, sears its images into your brain, and escapes before anyone has a chance to confront it. I have a feeling this will become a favorite recommendation of mine; too bad I had to return it before I could spread my copy to my horror-loving friends and family.

God! At first, I found it weird, but as the story progressed, I was drawn to it.
