I really did like this book. It was an easy read with some adult humor. Nice little twist at the end although I figured it out a litle bit early.

Just plain fun. I rate by genre, and for a fun mystery, it’s a 4. Fun characters, fun action sequences, fun formula. I could, however, do without the constant religious references. Oh well. Agnostics gotta adapt.

A little slow up until the very end, but definitely entertaining :)

Book #17 read in 2006
I have to admit, I was especially interested in reading this book. I teach a mystery reading/writing unit to my 6th graders and we always begin the unit by watching the Disney movie Murder, She Purred. It is based on this novel. Since I have seen the movie several times before I read the book, I was constantly comparing the two. I really enjoyed the book, and I look forward to reading more in the series.

I watched the movie based on this book and was so aggravated. The changes the screenwriter made were unnecessary. The only good thing about the movie was Blythe Danner as the voice of Mrs. Murphy. Why they had to make Harry plump, why they had to make Miranda silly, why they had to make Boom Boom stupid, why they had to make Tucker a male. All these changes were stupid and contributed nothing to the story and ruined the movie.
