The Life We Almost Had cannot be judged by it's cover.
And by that there's nothing against the cover or the book itself, it's just more than a traditional romance.
Thank you to Forever for my gifted copy for review!
This is the story of Anna and Adam, who meet during a beach vacation after Anna's engagement is called off.
It's the story of their courtship and marriage, and the heartbreak of infertility. It's of the wedge that's formed between them, and the struggle to reconnect.
During a return vacation to the island where Anna and Adam met, an accident threatens their relationship forever.
 Enter Dr. Oilver Chapman.
Author Amelia Henley's (also known as thriller writer Louise Jensen) novel takes turns not usually found in romance stories, and I was absolutely here for it.
It's an account of the life and love of a couple, with a touch of medical sci-fi. And it works! It tugged at my dark heart many a time.
The read is a bit in the tradition of Richard Matheson's Somewhere In Time - a love story that doesn't always follow the boundaries of the established world.
For a different slant in the classic romance, do check this one out.
