there were like... so many Bad Things in this!!!
like there were undercurrents of this weird queer erasure, misogyny, at one point one of the critics tried to suggest marcel moore never took good photographs and had no artistic talent which is like... Fuck You!!!!.... it was pretty shitty. i did think the essay acting out: claude cahun and marcel moore by Tirza True Latimer was good tho!! and i didnt read the final essay cos its not relevant to my dissertation time period, but it looked cool too. theres some ridiculous references to freud tho which is always a. ridiculous and b. shitty and sexist. plus one of the essays is like... doing ok apart from the fact its obviously written by a cis person who doesnt get that part of what cahun might be exploring is the fact that she might not be/doesnt want to be a woman, and isn't just using the image of the androgyne as like a metaphor or a symbol but as a real body experience/dream gender.
