Difficile ma incantevole. Primo Levi sa catturare una realtà come quella che ha vissuto in maniera incredibile. Ci ho messo tanto, ma ho la sensazione che ne sia valsa la pena.

Of the Holocaust accounts I've read, this has the most analysis. What does man turn into when he is left with nothing-no food, no possessions, no family, no friends, no photos or mementos of any component of his life so far? He himself is lost. Maybe that is why the author chose to almost completely remove himself from this book. He disappears and his campmates come to life.
