Most imaginative of Agatha Christie's thrillers. She has of course invented almost all the styles used in crime fiction today but some of her books are a bit schematic and you can easily guess what is coming. This one is special, along with Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile.

This was amazing. I couldn't put it down and stayed up half the night to finish it.

My first Agatha Christie book. Crazy right? After reading this, I see how poor my reading choices have been to exclude her. Crazy good. Didn't see it coming; loved it. What else can you say about the best?

Fun to read a novel published almost 100 years ago and by a very famous mystery genre author. I was surprised by the reveal.

Shockingly my first Agatha Christie read. Fun, quick read that kept me guessing. I loved all the By Joves and I'm Feeling Queer Indeeds.

Still a favorite. Just as fun reading when I know the ending by heart.

The retro-racism and anti-Semitism were a suckerpunch, though. At least it was brief and not central to the plot.
