While the initial premise threw me a bit (because, really?), I quickly fell in love with Chloe and Warren and their hastily assembled family unit. They dealt with the issues and actually spoke to one another (for the most part). And even the major issue that came up toward the end was handle in a way that felt believable and real. We spent most of the book with Chloe’s POV (Warren had an epilogue), but you could still see all of the cracks and emotions of the surrounding characters that became their found family.

Instantly hooks you.
I appreciated a love story showing that kids who have to handle hard things are absolutely able to grow up healthy and thriving.

To quote the MC: “oh so cheesy. Unbelievably cheesy. But I like it…”

Also convinced they won’t stay together the man was a walking red flag.

It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t a page turner for me. I also did not think they had much chemistry. Every time they spoke of their feelings I didn’t believe them. That’s what didn’t sell the book to me. The positive is that the book started really good.
