I liked A trap for the unwary and The Adventures of the Christmas pudding the most

Absorbing and interesting short stories with afterwords. I especially loved 'The House of Dreams' and 'While the light lasts'. A very good read.

While no doubt affected by the fact that several of these stories are rewrites of others and thus entirely predictable (Christmas Adventure, The Mystery of the Baghdad Chest) and several are not so good (The House of Dreams, The Lonely God, Manx Gold, While the Light Lasts). There are a few quite good stories (The Actress, The Edge, Within a Wall) so I had to give this a middling rating.

A sweet collection of short stories, most haven’t been republished since the 1920’s!
