i don’t know what i expected picking this book up, but wow.
out of the three books i read from briar u, i liked this the most. it’s the most realistic story.
my heart aches for demi, that girl has been through a lot. let’s just say that she’s exactly what gaslight, gatekeep, and girlboss is. hunter, my beloved, he’s also so strong. i felt like throwing up reading his childhood trauma.
i am now more intrigued with reading the last book, but i don’t think i’m mentally prepared enough to say goodbye to these characters. they genuinely felt like family.

There are so many different facets to Demi Davis, and the more I learn about her, the more I love her
Hunter is definitely a fave in the Briar U series, he was actually good and he actually grew as a character instead of just being the sleazy boy that he was portrayed as throughout the series. I liked Demi, she was cool actually, I liked her more than I expected, although, still feel like we only grazed the top of her character development. TJ pissed me off so much you have no idea, I felt bad though
Spoiler
when you found out that he had suicidal tendenciesI did enjoy this book though, it was good, Demi is kinda iconic and kinda wanna be her
"Oh really? So what are you saying? We're going to be together forever?"
Smiling, I peer down at his gorgeous face. Then I brush a light kiss over his lips.
"That's exactly what I'm saying"

Spoiler
Demi Davis is dating Nico, who she has been with since she was 13. Hunter is on a sex strike during last year's hockey season's dismal ending thanks to him sleeping with the oppositions girlfriend. Clearly in love, Hunter doesn't have a problem with staying away from Demi and is happy just to be her Abnormal Psych partner for the year-long partner project they have to do. However, as their friendship develops, suddenly Hunter is confronted with the choice to tell Demi whether or not her boyfriend is cheating on her. Fiding out the hard way, Demi immediately breaks up with Nico and is immediately on the lookout for a rebound and she wants Hunter. How long can Hunter resist Demi's charms? Not long is the answer before the two of them sleep with each other.
