The most chaotic book I have read yet from Elle Kennedy and I loved every second of it.

*check TW for suicide attempt and other mental health topics*

Overall cute but some things that we’re NOT IT

Likes:
•Hunter and Demi’s friendship
•Hunter and Demi caring for each other and pushing each other into following their dreams

Dislikes:
•How all the characters made Hunter’s choice of abstinence seem like a bad thing
•Demi basically pressuring/manipulating Hunter to break his vow
•Freaking Nico
•The Latina character (Demi’s mom) was basically just Sofia Vergara. Try harder pls
•How they all keep making fun of Rupi
•THE EGG???

Spoiler
•An unnecessary scene with a suicide attempt where Demi talks her friend out of suicide and it’s basically just there to show Demi prove herself to her dad.

There are so many different facets to Demi Davis, and the more I learn about her, the more I love her

Hunter is definitely a fave in the Briar U series, he was actually good and he actually grew as a character instead of just being the sleazy boy that he was portrayed as throughout the series. I liked Demi, she was cool actually, I liked her more than I expected, although, still feel like we only grazed the top of her character development. TJ pissed me off so much you have no idea, I felt bad though
Spoiler when you found out that he had suicidal tendencies
but he also just annoyed me so much that i didn't even really care. Also Nico? WTH abusive relationship and don't even try telling me that it wasn't. I think Elle Kennedy added more worldwide issues if that made sense, it seemed more full of issues currently affecting the world, however, it didn't go as in-depth as The Deal for example.
I did enjoy this book though, it was good, Demi is kinda iconic and kinda wanna be her

"Oh really? So what are you saying? We're going to be together forever?"
Smiling, I peer down at his gorgeous face. Then I brush a light kiss over his lips.
"That's exactly what I'm saying"

I think this is definitely my favorite from the Briar U series so far! I really loved delving into Hunter’s backstory and also reading about Demi. Their story started off so different and developed in a such an interesting way, in comparison to the other Briar universe books. Also, the epilogue was slightly unexpected and it was a nice lighthearted way to end the novel.   I personally wasn’t a huge fan of the usage of the word “shrink.” Also, the hero complex that occurred at the end was quite questionable. I think the entire situation should’ve been written at a different angle, because it really just felt like the author and characters didn’t understand what was actually happening, in my opinion.
