This book deals with heavy themes. Suicide, discrimination, sexual harassment, and addiction.

Georgia is a urologist in the south. She is fiercely independent, a fact her bosses hate, and her best friend Jonah loves. When one of their careers is on the line Georgia struggles with making the right decisions...

This book while heavy is also a very compelling read. This is the author's second novel. It reads like the author has been writing about these characters for decades. The only thing that slowed me down at all was receiving another book on hold from the library. Kimmery Martin is definitely on my auto request list.

Dealing with serious subject matter, the romance in this book was merely a subplot. The more important story was about the best friends who were doctors at the same clinic and how they would respond to the dramatic events taking place at the clinic.

Enjoyed this book way more than I thought! I really loved and admired the two main characters and I was rooting for them throughout the entire book. There was a little too much religion talk for me to give this a full 5 stars but besides that I would recommend to anyone who likes medical drama storylines that relate to current events in the world.

This starts as out as a story about doctors in a clinic who decide they will no longer treat trans patients and the reactions/fall out from this, but we quickly become attached to Georgia and especially Jonah as various events unfold.

I really love the authors writing style and wit, it's so easy to just float along with the characters and story, however I do think this one slightly lost its way towards the end. The plot got a bit convoluted and ended up far from the original focus. I also don't think we needed Marks chapters (or Donovans for that matter). Just one POV would be fine for the whole story, especially as we didn't get Jonahs which would have been amazing.

Overall I did enjoy this but think I preferred Queen of Hearts a little more. And definitely looking forward to reading Doctors and Friends!
