Loved it

I love this family. I felt like this book ended too soon. We gotta get an update on Jordan and KL plus what’s going on with Camila? Please bring our favorite family back!

No ma’am Mrs. Carter, I need an epilogue on this one. How does it just stop right there. I can’t even give a review because that ending wasn’t playing fair.

Jordan stressed me out from start to finish. She was moody, selfish and played games til the very end. I believe in my heart of hearts KL could do much better but that heart wants what it wants and that’s the beauty of books. No matter how unlikeable a character is a good writer makes it an entertaining ride til the bitter end. Endiya Carter got it right with this book. We don’t always fall in love with the main characters. Sometimes they’re going to work our nerves but there’s beauty and lessons in imperfect characters.

I don’t know what to make of this book. As always, this author writes a great page-turning, emotional, funny, dramatic messy romance that you can’t put down and she’s rapidly becoming one of my favourites for that. The hero, KL, is fantastic in every way from his back story and the sacrifices he made for the love of his life to the life he’s creating for his daughter now that he’s free and able to do so. He has a great sense of self and self-worth that meant even though he was the “younger man,” he was confident and alpha AF. The “older woman” heroine on the other hand, Jordan…. was incredibly unlikeable and the backstory she was given of a past heartbreak made absolutely no sense in justifying or excusing her entitled, weirdly self-destructive while being selfish behaviour. She was a love rat for no absolute reason other than the fact she wanted a man to pay for the things she could easily afford for herself without having to contribute anything but sex- not time or emotion or care or mutual support or anything. All of which would be her perfectly valid if amoral choice, if not that she chose to be messy in her work place with people who were friends with her family where the repercussions would be huge and self-sabotaging if she was found. Moreover, she chose not to disengage from past ain’t ish lovers and would not set appropriate boundaries for the kind of relationships she claimed she was after. She just didn’t make sense. I just didn’t understand her as a heroine or think KL deserved someone like that. I think this is an author that knows how to walk the very fine line in romance between imperfect toxic mess and irredeemable toxic mess and she very much tightrope-walked that line in this book.

I had high expectations for the second book of the Kennedy sisters and Endiya came through!!! My girl Jordan was going through it and was definitely her worst enemy. At times I felt that she believed that she wasnt worthy of true happiness. KL aka YoungBae tried to come in and show her that he could be everything that she needed. But she not only had an issue with him being young but also not being rich. At times she came off as very shallow and I would mentally curse her out. I loved KL. He was a true man that did what he had to do for his family. It was a nice twist to his background story and I was grateful for that. In all honesty, Jordan never really dealt with the problems in her passed that she carried them into a relationship she had no business being in and into the beginning stages with KL. A highlight of the book had to be the Kennedy sister father. Carlton didnt play about his babies ok! Great story! I’m sad I read this all in a day! What’s next?! Book 3!

Okay so here's the thing. I loved KL. Love loved loved him. He was an amazing father, ambitious, read as sexy as anything and he was definitely a winner. Jordan...I was not a fan of her. The longer the book carried on with her antics, the more I was over her. Childish as ever. I understand being hurt by your past, but the way she acted was a complete mess.

How you sitting on your high horse looking down at everyone, but you sleeping with a whole married man and have been for 8 years??? And you work with both him and his wife???? And he's your dad's best friend. Girl....goodbye.
