There's illustrations that some children may find scary. There's one near the end of the book that I, a grown woman, found a little scary. I do think it's on par with something like "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" though.

One of my favorite internet horror artists has released his first book! And it is a spooky blast. Definitely gave me nostalgia vibes of something like Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, but Henderson's creations are just so unique and skin-crawly. I'm hopeful for this to become a series, or just more from Henderson in general!

Excellent listen (audiobook) about several children in the town of Beacon Point fighting off creepy and disturbing looking monsters. Felt more adult than YA or middle school - or maybe I'm easily scared.

of course i have to give the goat, trevor henderson, a good review. i’ve been in love with his art for years and i’m so glad to be seeing his venture into writing.
this book is exactly what i would have gone crazy for as a kid. it’s perfect for fans of goosebumps, scary stories to tell in the dark and IT. very beginner horror friendly for those who get scared easily or just need a gateway to the genre. even then, there was one part that gave me, a desensitized horror fanatic, the ick!
my only complaint is that it introduced too many characters too fast. i could barely keep up with how many kids there were and all their dynamics. otherwise, it was basically perfect.
