I can't stop reading this series. On one hand, this manga is casually enjoyable, very much so, and I often want to reach for a book like that in my downtime. It also has the tone of an epic poem, like 'The Odyssey', where the destiny of our protagonist is guided by the winds of fate and there's no clue where we'll end up next. A good and a bad thing here, maybe, because it sometimes feels random and underdeveloped. However, we're dealing with an immortal, and time transcendence is a very real phenomenon. The longer you experience life, the smaller and faster moments in time become, so there's a temporal quality to the story arc that often feels breezy. Is that intentional? I don't know, but if I can think of a good reason for it within the context of the book, I'll give it the benefit of the doubt.

My favorite volume so far. Fushi is starting to realize what it is to be human.

I honestly was unsure of what I have read. The story was strange and difficult to follow. I am not sure where this story is going. I am still intrigued enough to read the next volume but I am not sure how much farther I want to go in this series.

Literally the first time I haven’t cried or teared up when reading this series, but still really loved it! Saw some familiar faces and I am starting to like the new ones a little more!
