I love this team of mid-century crime investigators set in my favourite seaside town. I can picture the places and feel the chill of the wind off the sea as they trudge through the snow at a time when not everyone had a car

Another good read, the Max/ Florence storyline didn’t add anything though. It just seemed out of character.

Thoroughly enjoyed this entry in the Stephens & Mephisto series. Her characters are very well drawn, and the backstory of the murders was believable (although the grisly tableaus of death were a bit of a stretch, given the amount of time the murderer had to arrange them ....). Still, a solid entry, and enjoyed reading the developments in the lives of the series characters.

When a young  florist is found dead at her lodgings, DI Edgar Stevens is called in to investigate the murder.
My least favourite of The Brighton Mysteries so far, which is a shame as I usually enjoy Elly Griffiths's books.
The story was extremely sluggish with nothing much happening until the last ten percent of the book and then everything took place at a breakneck speed.
