I really liked this book a lot, it was fast paced and there was no boring moments.
I also liked how the characters couldn't always be trusted and they're all more or less in a morally gray area. I don't always want to read about heroes who do everything right, and are never selfish or wrong, so this story was exactly what I needed.

Spoiler I hope that Mirella will return as a character in the second part of the series, otherwise I think that it would be a bit boring that she is alive, but no longer part of the plot at all. I personally liked her character and it was a shame that she died. But her death furthered the plot and it would seem like an odd choice that she was killed just to advance the plot and as soon as things were resolved she was suddenly alive, but then gone again.
It would be nice to see more sides of her, especially now that it became clear that she has other powers than just changing her skin color.

Very entertaining read! I picked this up because I love the Webtoon (season 1 follows the events of this book, and they are working on season 2, which will follow the second book). Reading this book gave me an even greater appreciation for the Webtoon. I was amazed at how good of a job the Webtoon creators did with it. The Webtoon is very faithful to the book, and as I was reading this book, I was able to picture the scenes in my head from the Webtoon, which I loved. I also appreciate the fact that despite the book's closeness to the Webtoon, I didn't get bored with the book even though I knew what was going to happen. And I have to mention that I appreciated the fact that there was very little romance in this book—and in fact almost none (Finally! A YA book without a love triangle!

im torn about how i feel on this book.
on one hand, its rare that books like this talk and show that much gore. but on the other, i just felt like the plot of this book went nowhere for a majority of the book. things didnt really get moving along until the final third of the of pages.
