Thank you to NetGalley for approving me with an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book had everything I could ever want in a romance! Enemies to lovers + summer love at a lake house vacation = me in a puddle by the end of the book. Jessica Pennington wrote a romance that has you rooting for it from page 1, with perfect pacing, and secrets that make you melt.

I normally don’t go for Ya romance because the characters are too immature, but Asher and Sidney are so fun and fresh. Their banter and pranks make them the perfect team. Sidney is meticulous and independent. Asher is goofy and adorable. I can’t wait to have this book in person on my shelf to reread at my lake house!

It’s been awhile since I read this book. I actually finished this in December and just never got around to reviewing it. I remember I really enjoyed this book and all of the pranks the two pulled on each other.

I’m pretty sure this was another book that took place at a Michigan lake and I like that these books take me back to when I used to live in Michigan which is probably why I like them so much. I also like how young adult books are starting to focus on college and what happens next after high school.

This was a cute summer read I needed in the middle of reading Christmas books last month. This was a four star read. Thank you Netgalley and publishers for letting me read this. That had no impact on my thoughts, my thoughts are my own.

This book surprised me! It’s a pretty fun summer time romance book–perfect for a beach day. I thought the main characters Sidney and Asher had great chemistry even if their interactions felt a little cringe at times (though maybe I just felt that way because I’m not a teenager anymore). There were a few times that the author refused to go along with widely accepted tropes for this type of book, and I really appreciated that. I don’t want to give any spoilers or anything, so I won’t go into specifics. But sometimes authors almost…fabricate drama? I never really felt like that happened in this book. I was super into the first two thirds, but then the last third was a bit less enjoyable (which kept it from being a four star read for me). Throughout, I really liked our two main characters, but towards the end they both made decisions and acted in ways that made me like them a little less. Overall, I would definitely recommend this as a summer read! 3.5/5

Note: I received a copy of this book free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

“How much do you hate me right now”
hajahsbbqbsbqnshabb

Enemies to friends to lovers back to enemies to lovers. This book got me from the first page, it really did.
I can’t believe Asher was in love with her for years and she decided to hate him for years because he saw a girl kiss him????? Like bye. (I would love to hope I’m not that crazy and delusional irl)

Anyways! I would have loved to see a glimpse into their future where they get married, go back to the lake house, raise their own kids there etc. I really want a sequel.

Spoiler alert lol

This book is a solid 2.7 but I rounded up cause u can’t do that.

Bro like it was just boring like I’m reading and the whole book is just stupid decisions. And not like omg this girl but like bro stop being dumb.

Sidney is so immature and dumb like pranks because he kissed another girl omfg. Then she gets her family kicked out for it and then continues to do them to the woman who kicked them out in spite of the consequences she just felt with.

Asher haram I liked him but he was stupid with these pranks aswell, like bro he calls Sidney twisted no bro it’s not twisted it fucking stupidity and immaturity.

Prancing people like ur 10 years old.

The romance was like mid too, they were boring and besides swimming they are bland and have little chemistry.

LIKE STRAIGHT OUT SHE HAD MORE CHEMISTRY WITH THE THE POLICE OFFICER.

And like she’s such a bitch she ditched caleb and then didn’t even feel bad or apologize. SHE IS SO SELFISH.

even with her pranks she didn’t care if Asher’s whole family was affected by it. Like stop being childish man.

And she draws conclusions so quickly with no explanation or proof she just like oh he definitely means this. LIKE WHAT.

She overthinks and makes it her WHOLE personality.

And personally the end of the book was good, that ending was good.

But the book is also SOO DRAGGED ITS INSANE.

And how did she beat her mums time in the race SO fast like doesn’t that need more than 2 months training to beat like idk that was weird.

I think u can find a better book.
