I read this a while back and did a reread last year, when I got this in greek for my mother to read.
Four sisters lose their mother (this is not a spoiler the novel starts with that). Every girl is different and their relationship with their mother was unique. It got emotional when with the opening of the will, the girls get letters from their deceased mother. They contain things she never got the chance to tell them. Through the letters we get the required exposition about the family.

Grab this one for a light reading with a touch of drama but expect a predicted plot.

P.S: After I finished this I went to hug my mom and told her how much I love her...

This is more about the bond of sisterhood, than about the mother. It does talk about mothers being imperfect and how daughters make life choices based on their past with their mothers. Great read for any woman, even if she only has brothers.

A dying mother leaves behind letters and a journal that guides her four daughters through the trials of the first year without her.

As a daughter facing the major milestones of adulthood without her mom, this book resonated with me, especially because I found a little of myself in each of the daughters. The writing sometimes seemed as though it was trying too hard, but I will say, for a character who's already dead when the book opens, Barbara has an incredible vibrance. The ending might have tied up a little easily, a little too happily, and I might have wished for the sadness to be a little deeper and a little darker, but it was a decent read.

I didn't hold high hopes for this book, but ended up falling in love with the characters and story. Realistic story with relatable characters and a humorous read despite being based around the subject of grief. Sometimes thought provoking.

Only drawback for me was the authors poor grammar and sentence skills; it was often hard to distinguish who was saying what and felt quite 'novice.' All in all, a surprisingly enjoyable read and a welcome break from all the thrillers I've been reading recently.
