Overall, I really enjoyed this lecture series. I've always been fascinated by book banning and censorship, which is a more delicate way of saying that learning about it breaks my heart 99% of the time. I came to this lecture series to do research for my own creative writing, and I gleaned a lot of helpful information. I still have so many questions too. My brain is still spinning. but I think that is part of the point.

A deep dive into a very interesting topic. The constant panic over books is often funny, but the banning of them is no laughing matter. Of particular relevance is the question of separating the art from the artist, whether an artists crimes make their work unethical to read or not. I know my personal feelings on the topic, but the lecturer does a good job of letting the listener decide for themselves.

"But I'll always choose feeling uncomfortable over ignorant. Which is the far more dangerous condition"

This audio book was simply fascinating to listen through! I'd consider myself a book buff but I learned things about the great works of literature in the world that I never knew before. The only reason this isn't a full 5 star read for me is that I wish the author took a more definitive stance for or against JKR in the chapter about her. Based on the other comments made by Corrigan throughout the course, I do not think she believes or supports any of Rowlings beliefs, but I wish there had been a more decisive statement instead of remaining impartial due to the possibility of research bias.

Otherwise, an all around fascinating read.
