Excellent non-fiction story for kids that focuses on the discovery of TRex. The illustrations are illuminating and if the kids don't know what dinosaur they found till the end the big reveal is that much more powerful!

Cute! Clearly for little kids, a look at the discovery of Tyrannosaurus Rex, and the science of dinosaur hunting in the late 19th early 20th century. Has humor (on the expedition alone, Barnum has no one there "to help with the digging or the cooking"). Semi-realistic art with humorous touches, animated expressions on characters' faces. Interesting fact: he was named after P. T. Barnum!

Everyone loves the t-Rex!! We didn't even know about them till Barnum discovered the fossils. A great book that kids will love!

Great story; a little text-heavy. Best for older primary-elementary kids programs. Awesome illustrations with a little bit of humor -- Barnum is a particularly schnazzy dresser for someone who digs up carcasses all day. Looking forward to using this in a geological dig program with the kids where they'll chisel out their own real fossils.
