I love Patti Callahan’s books but this was not my favorite. I loved the history of C.S. Lewis and the story of Megs and her brother George. Megs hears stories from C.S.Lewis and then retells them to her brother. It was hard to tell when Megs stories began and when Megs was with her brother. It was a quick and interesting read.

I wanted to ADORE this book, but I only liked it. I’m not sure what kept me from being dazzled… But if you love C.S. Lewis or the Narnia series, this is worth the read and makes for a nice winter/Christmas book.

A random, late night Christmas book review for you. This was a total impulse read. The audiobook was available on Libby so I popped it on whilst diamond painting.

If you’re a fan of the Chronicle of Narnia this is a fun look at the creation of the story and the impact that stories can have on people.

This was just a wholesomely good read

I went into this partly skeptical and partly excited to see what this author did with historical fiction surrounding C.S. Lewis. It was cheesy at times, unbelievable at others, but overall was very heart warming and I enjoyed it, even through its cheesiness.

A deeply touching look at the early years of C.S. Lewis and the transformative power of stories.

This was a sweet story about cs Lewis when he was writing the narnia series. It was fun. It reads like a middle grade novel, not sure if that’s the target audience.

To anyone who loves stories, fairy tales, and especially Narnia, I cannot recommend this book enough!! It encapsulates so much that I love about Narnia & the power of stories, and weaves it through the lives of two fictional characters (Megs & George) who I fell in love with on the spot! These siblings feel so real and sweet, and the book itself is so wonderful in the way it ties together its themes of hope amid grief and the undying love we have for our loved ones and the stories that make them who they are. I can only think of maybe one other book that had me crying so hard, while still being happy and hopeful in spite of (or almost because of?) the tears (the most freeing, purifying, and heartwarming of cries, I don’t know how else to explain it). I don’t know how to properly say anything meaningful enough about a book that moved me so much and had me so fiercely attached to all its characters. I can only say, please read it. I think you’ll love it too.
