A beautiful story about grief and loss and growth and the meaning of life, through the eyes of the child within us all. Neil Gaiman is a gifted writer that weaves meaning into a world of whimsy.

The story was really good and was a great 2 day weekend read. I will admit though it was a bit weird and out there. But isn't that what you are looking for when reading Neil Gaiman's work. I highly recommend this story for anyone who is looking for a short pick me up read either on a rainy summer weekend or curled up inside watching fall leaves slowly fall. It is also a great read for anyone who is wanting to escape reality for a time and want to be lost on a fun and winding story about the main characters life condensed into about 200 pages.

At times I wish it had been a bit meatier, but love the play on memory and first person narration towards the end.

A quick, fun read with an unusually beautiful ending. It was just the right length for the story.
