The book was okay but I didn't find it particularly insightful. I'm a big fan of Bryony's in general - her advocacy, her podcast, her journalism, but was disappointed by this book

I have a lot in common with Bryony - including an anxiety disorder and many of the same vices. The beginning and middle of her memoir were very relatable for me. Towards the end, she tends to look back on some stuff with a regretful "shame on me" kind of attitude which doesn't resonate with my own feelings of my past. And I found it annoying that she remains very self-centered without a real sense of self-awareness present. But overall it was refreshing to be able to read about someone who I was able to relate to. And her candid recollections can help those who are struggling with mental illness to feel less alone.

This is a really informative book about Bryony's experience of OCD and depression, told in a way that was extremely engaging and funny whilst also being able to punch you in the gut emotionally. I've never experienced OCD myself, but now feel like I can understand some aspects of it better, at least the elements that she relates. I also loved listening to this on audio, as listening to Bryony narrate her story gave it extra gravitas, humour and oomph.
