Another book review is here and this time I am reviewing a book that was partof the campaign from @bookinfluencers.com. The book is a Science Fiction classic that is written by L. Ron Hubbard.

In the past, I’ve already posted anotherwork by the same author. I recall that it was an amazing read as well. This time I am reviewing Battlefield Earth, a book that was reviewed by many, and that it intrigued me to read and explore. The review is my opinion spoiler-free.
The story takes us to 1977 when NASA launched Voyager 1 in order to explore if there is life beyond our planet.

Thousand of years later, a new discovery showed that the Psychlos, a race that is super powerful managed to removefrom Earth all of its natural resources and made human beings face the risk ofextinction over 3000 years. Jonnie Goodboy Tyler, a natural-born leader and possiblesavior for humanity, had to raise an army to fight the invincible race. If thisis not successful, the human race will no longer exist thus resulting in theend of everything.

This international bestseller is the book that one could easily read on a cozy wintery night since it is a book that hooks you from the very start! It iscrazy if this has to be possible and made me reflect a lot. The book is an epictale of adventure, war, and love. It is action-packed and definitely worth aread. It has a dual way of reading it and while I made use of the audiobook aswell, I absolutely enjoyed this book with a mug of steaming hot chocolate and a blanket. Transporting myself into the ultimate battle was a journey that I will never forget.

🌛 Battlefield Earth 🌜

This book is big. I love big books, so that doesn't scare me, but I know big books are scary to most of the readers. So, since this book is just too good not to be read because of it's length, I will recommend you the audiobook. The audiobook is absolutely amazing. The narrators were perfect fits and they only made the story more fun. Not that the story lacked fun, because this is a weirdly fun and interesting book. I did read it once before, so I reread it in audiobook form this time, and it was even better this time because I could speed it up to get faster to my favourite parts. Battlefield Earth is action packed and full of adventures. It's one plot twist after the other and it will keep you on the edge of your seat. The best word I have to describe this book is cool. This book is just cool. So, do not be discouraged if you saw the movie, because the movie doesn't do justice to this book, and just grab this book and finally read it. You will enjoy it, that's for sure. And now is the perfect time to get it because Amazon will have a sale for it on December 10th for just 2.99$

 “Battlefield Earth" by L. Ron Hubbard is a thrilling adventure that explores the impact of an alien invasion on Earth. The author weaves a compelling tale of extraterrestrial forces descending upon Earth, blending elements of suspense, action, and a touch of the unknown.

The story spans a thousand years, beginning with NASA's Voyager 1 attracting the attention of the destructive Psychlos. As humanity faces extinction in the year 3000, Jonnie Goodboy Tyler steps up as a courageous leader, ready to take on the seemingly unbeatable invaders.
What will happen next? Will Tyler be able to save the world ? Will aliens take over humans ?

From the opening pages, the narrative grips you with its portrayal of an imminent alien threat. Hubbard skillfully navigates the complexities of the invasion, exploring the resilience of humanity in the face of peril. The characters, both human and alien, are meticulously crafted, breathing life into the story and adding layers of intrigue.

What sets Battlefield Earth apart is its ability to balance heart-pounding action with moments of reflection, delving into the emotional impact of such a cosmic upheaval. As the invaders make their presence known, the tension builds, keeping readers on the edge of their seats.

The storytelling is nothing short of phenomenal, painting a vivid picture of both Earth's struggle for survival and the alien forces that seek dominance. The author's descriptive prowess creates a sensory experience that pulls you into the midst of the chaos, making it difficult to put the book down. Hubbard leaves us questioning our place in the cosmos and the potential consequences of an extraterrestrial encounter

In conclusion, "Battlefield Earth" stands out as a compelling classic in the sci-fi genre, providing a gripping and immersive narrative of encounters with aliens. Recommended to everyone who love sci-fi story.

I went into this story with no clue how I’d feel about it. I had the pleasure of reading the book AND listening to the full cast audiobook! I think where some science fiction can lack in world building and detail, this one eats us up with a full scoped world and everything you’d hope to know. Not to mention such a “lasso” wielding Wild West feeling technical world at that. It’s enjoyable, fun, adventurous, and full of a great time. If you’re a fan of sci fi this is definitely something you have to read at LEAST once.

Thank you @galaxy_press for my gifted copies! This was a great ride.

I read Battlefield Earth because it was written by the author of Dianetics and the founder of Scientology, and wanted to find out how much L Ron was full of shit. Battlefield Earth is the epitome of pulp. It's very silly, and an OK read, for the most part. Why in the world did Hubbard add all that boring crap after the climax of a kind of entertaining albeit dumb action SF story? It just went on and on. This should have been an anthology of multiple books not one long ass book. 10 out of 10 would not read again.

“How could any being consider itself so right as to think it should make all other beings into robots to do it's bidding?”

~~~
This story is proof that man can survive anything!
What started out as a lone journey of not only discovery but also questioning what our main character was made to believe about life turned into a whirlwind, gripping adventure with man's future at stake.
Eventually the battle of centuries, a battle to save the last vestiges of humans on earth come what may was what ensues.
We follow Jonnie Goodboy Tyler who connects every human character in a bigger purpose than who they are, kindling hope when all was ashes and rousing a fire that in them to fight an alien race so formidable and weaving a story that's gripping, captivating, tense, immersive and so hopeful you won't help but root for fellow humans.
Hubbard gives us the privilege to see things from the point of view of not only our hero but also the point of view of the alien. He also includes characters that are not only flawed but who'll do anything to move our race forward even if it means to learn a bit of the alien knowledge and technology.
Remember, “Knowledge was the key out of captivity.”
From remaining occupants in Russia, Denver, Lake Victoria to the Himalayas we see Hubbard showing us the importance of oneness. And he goes on to poke at some of the things that separate our race such as religion, politics, greed...
I'd say the science fiction, bountiful adventure, good versus evil trope that holds up the story but it's that power of the human spirit and it's resilience beautifully showcased that makes it come to life and  makes you turn the pages over and over till that last one.
If you love you hero journey stories, good vs bad, high adventure all wrapped in science fiction then this is your jam here, jump right it and brace yourself.
Great Sci Fi novel, but it’s about three times longer than it needs to be. Maybe there were no line editors back in 1980.
The first half of this book was a lot of fun and could stand alone as a novel in itself. The second half was kind of meh and not what I was interested in.
What a great read! Really liked the complexity of the plot, the number of characters, and the epic proportions of the alien worlds. It got minus a star, because it was a bit unrealistic to have a barbarian human who doesn't know how to read, within a couple years, learn how to read, speak several languages, learn about diplomacy, explosives, mining, advanced mathematics... the list goes on. Also, he never lost, so it wasn't surprising when he won. Fun story, though, and way better than I expected of L. Ron Hubbard!
