Another mystery solved. I like Cash, and I feel like she's her own Wonder Woman.

Dark tale. A good continuation of Cash’s story. I like how the story is told.

The writing is difficult to read in the beginning, but the novel becomes very engaging past the mid-way point. Incorporates concepts of violation of consent and trauma very very well.

Very slow for a majority of the story. It only picked up near the very end, but all of the excitement was there and gone in a flash. I did enjoy the characters as they were different from books I typically read. This book was a short enough listen that I wasn’t overly bothered by the lack of action.

I liked this book even more than the first one. Although I must say, Cash needs to do something about her bladder *laughs*
Thanks to Sheriff Wheatton's help, she's now in college, dealing with smarmy professors and students who are very different from her while also trying to understand what has happened to those smart white girls who are missing from home.
And, if that wasn't enough, her brother shows up unexpectedly after a tour in Vietnam.
While I found the mystery not very... mysterious, I get what the author was trying to show us, and I appreciate it. Because, in all honesty, it's Cash who hooked me in this series. And it's my love for her that will make me look up to the next book in this series.
