"I want to hear from you at all hours. I want to read your words. I am greedy for them. I am hungry for them."

This is one of my highly-anticipated books of the year. I had a lot of expectations for this one, and I'm happy to say it did not disappoint.

After the cliff-hanger at the end of the Divine Rivals, I knew this book was going to tear me up and it did, in the best way!

I cried many times while reading it, especially at the end!!!, but this book filled me with warm fuzzy feelings. I love Iris, she's so fierce and strong in a way that is very unusual for a YA fantasy heroine, and Roman is a breath of fresh air in a genre that is filled with macho men (not that I have anything against those types of characters). The romance between them is so cute, one of my favorite couples ever!

Although I loveeeeeed this book, there were a couple of things I wish it focused more on (
Spoiler the third Alouette and Iris' brother, and the relationship between the two of them
). I think if it did, it would have been a solid 5/5 star book for me.

I found the epilogue interesting, I liked it a lot!

I don't have all the words for this right now besides Rebecca Ross I am in your walls and also would risk it all for you and your writing. Maybe I'll edit this later with all the words once I can put them together in a way that this book deserves

Wow, this was just as good as the first....maybe even better?? Dare I say it?? For a duology to work, the two books need to reflect each other in themes and plot, and Ruthless Vows was executed perfectly as the second half of Iris' and Roman's story. The tension between them is different now that they know each other's true identities and are openly in love, but what I can't believe Ross pulled off, and somehow continued till the very last page, is the same amount of tension as their anonymous workplace rivalry induced at the beginning. The only way I can think to describe it is utterly romantic in the most classical sense; beautiful, I wanted to savor every moment. Their dedication and confidence in each other's love never wavers and no time is wasted with fretting or miscommunication. Instead their love turns into a power force to reckon with. Which Oath desperately needs because the war has taken a somber turn, and as we follow Roman down to Dacre's realm, Ross' worldbuilding talent shines. I can't quite pin down the magic of how this story affects me so strongly but my heart raced, I kept putting off reading due to my emotional attachment and stress about it ending, and I can't say that's happened to me in a very long time. I already can't wait to reread it.

My heart hurts. This book was so beautiful and was the perfect conclusion to the Letters of Enchantment series. I laughed, I cried, I fell in love with these characters even more than I did in the first book. I am sad that it is over but I wouldn't want it any other way. I LOVE REBECCA ROSS
